I do not feel brave. I feel small and frightened and furious. I have enough on my plate without worrying about some damned prophecy made a hundred years ago. I came to this diary looking for help, for guidance, and instead Mother's heaped more responsibility onto my head. But there was more. Perhaps some of it's actually useful. Something to tell me what I ought to do, besides cowering here in the corner. I pick up the diary again.

 

"You will be hunted by those who would use you for their own ends. You must be very careful. You cannot trust anyone with your secrets. There is more, and it is  worse. I have been frightened to write it all here, lest it fall into the wrong hands. You must seek answers. Those who love knowledge for its own sake will help. Until you know the whole truth of the prophecy, you must not share it with anyone. I am so sorry I am not there to protect you, but I can trust you to take care of Maura and Tess for me. Love always, Mom."

-I am loving this book so far. It is really different than what I was expecting though. I am curious as to what time period this is suppose to be? Is it the 1800s? I can't wait to read more, but school work is demanding. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next!

"Lily, I woke up and the last piece of my heart disappeared. I opened my eyes and I felt it go. I sit on the edge of the bathtub and run the fingernail of my thumb up the inside of my wrist. I trace a vein until it pitchforks out and disappears under the fleshiest part of my palm. Lily couldn't sleep; a few weeks before she left, she had all these pills to help her do that. I didn't think know why at the time but now I think her guilt was probably keeping her up at night. When I serached her bedroom earlier, I couldn't find them, which is too bad. I was counting on it."

-I am just starting this book today and I can't not wait to get more into the story. I love Courtney Summer's other books. One of my all time favorites ever is Some Girls Are and Cracked Up to Be. I'm sure that I will love this book as well. I have also heard amazing things about this. Plus it's about zombies!

"We ride through the night. Our horses picking their way across a difficult trail, guided by the moon, the stars, and not much more. Our conversation kept to a minimum, with mostly Chay asking: "You Okay? Need anything?"

And on the two occasions why I dozed off and almost fell from the saddle: "Cafeful now!"

Until finally, when the dawn begins to break and the sun begins its slow ascent over the ridge, he looks at me and says, "We're here."

pg. 139, Fated - Alyson Noel

-Hate to say this but I am somewhat disappointed with this book. It has been alright so far just no action and I am somewhat confused with the back history and what is going on with the main character. I am hoping that it picks up since I still have over 200 pages left too go.

"Monday morning Kylie woke up to the chill of the ghost. She opened her eyes, but the spirit hadn't materialized yet. "You do know just coming here and waking me up isn't going to help me, don't you? You need to give me something, find a way to show me who it is I need to help. No answer came back and Kylie pulled the covers over her chin and just stared at her breath making little clouds of mist rising above her nose. The visit to the falls with Holiday had been both amazing and amazingly disheartening."

-Loving this book so far! It is just as good as the first book, Born at Midnight! I am going to be picking up the third book today sometime between classes and lunch. Have a great day everyone!

He worried for her, even though she was sage for now-probably at home, probably with her family, asleep in her own bed.

Unaware of the torment she'd already unleashed in him.

-So far I haven't been really impressed with this book. I really hope that it picks up soon because I really want to like it.

"We pass another enormous structure, the one like the ruins of a medieval castle. "God, there's history everywhere," I say. "What is that place? Can we go in?"

"It's a museum, and sure. But not tonight. I believe it's closed," he adds.

"Oh. Yeah, of course." I try not to let my disappointment show.

St. Claire is amused. "It's only the first week of school. We have all the time in the world to visit your museum."

-This book has been fun to read so far. Can't wait to read more to understand why everyone loves this book! I will finish it sometime this week, so expect a review up soon! Hope everyone is having a fabulous Tuesday!

-WOW! This book is crazy! I love it! I thought that was an exellecent teaser for people to read. That defintley got me into wanting to read this book. This happens in the first chapter!
